Marcia Mahoney came to photography from a full career as a trial lawyer, followed by a rewarding stint as a community librarian. With that background, she makes pictures that tell the stories she sees – her own, and those she found as a lawyer, librarian and reader.
In 2019 Marcia will show a dozen images from her Infinite Pleasuer portfolio at Perspective Gallery in Evanston, Illnois. Currently, these works can be seen in exhibitions of street photography at A. Smith Gallery in Texas and Los Angeles Center of Photography. Her photograph, “Final Act, part of this series, won first place in the “people” category and Best in Show in the 2016 Images of Illinois contest.
Marcia is Treasurer of Chicago’s Filter Photo. She is a member of f8collective, a group of seven women photographers who collaborate to create and show work. A city girl and a country girl, Marcia lives in Chicago, Illinois and Sandpoint, Idaho.
